Who We Are?

Our Mission

The Literacy Concierge provides an exclusive package of services that is designed to foster literacy at home.  Unique online conferencing and digital tools allow for individualized literacy plans and support.

Dr. Susan Zoll

Susan Zoll, Ph.D., specializes in early language and literacy development.  She has over 25 years of teaching experience in early childhood classrooms, as a homeschooling parent, as a director of literacy projects, and as a college educator in teacher preparation programs.  Dr. Zoll’s child-centered philosophy is based on observation and dialogue protocols informed by the Montessori and Reggio Emilia pedagogies.

Some of her fondest memories include homeschooling her children, connecting learning and language development to everyday experiences.  Now as a literacy concierge, Dr. Zoll’s goal is (1) to engage children in play-based literacy experiences to prepare them for kindergarten and 3rd grade reading expectations; and (2) to empower families to understand and support their child’s literacy development through evidence-based parent education and interactive video conferencing.

Dr. Natasha Feinberg

Dr. Natasha Feinberg, Ed.D. currently serves as a professor of literacy in the Education program at Rhode Island College.  She holds National Board Certification in Reading and has also served as a literacy ambassador for the Rhode Island Department of Education. Dr. Feinberg has 17 years of experience as a reading specialist/literacy coach in the R.I. public K-12 school system.  She has worked extensively with Tier 2 and 3 literacy interventions and the implementation of Data-Based Individualization.

Dr. Feinberg’s specialty is identifying specific student literacy needs and matching the student with research-based interventions and progress monitoring tools that address these needs.  Her areas of interest and research lie in the structured literacy that provides foundational reading skills, systematic instruction of multisyllabic words, and the treatment of dyslexia and other reading difficulties.

Dr. Feinberg’s goals are (1) to support students in becoming fluent readers and articulate writers as they progress through their schooling; (2) to provide resources and strategies to families so they can foster literacy development; and (3) to ultimately to prepare students to be college and career ready.
